Recruitment agency growth
Recruitment SEO

Ask ChatGPT for the best recruiters in your sector. Does it name you?

Hiring managers build a shortlist before they call anyone. We help your agency earn a place on that shortlist in the lists that rank on Google, in the AI answers buyers ask first, and on the commercial pages you own.

Google the best recruitment agencies in your sector.

  1. Count how many of the top 20 results are lists you do not control.
  2. Count how many of those lists include your agency.
  3. Ask ChatGPT the same question and compare the shortlist.

That second number decides whether you get briefed. Not where your homepage ranks.

Those ranking lists also shape the sources AI systems use to compare and recommend agencies.

The recruitment authority roadmap

How recruitment SEO builds your way onto the shortlist.

Every programme is set around your sector, geography, fee model, client profile, and the search surfaces that can realistically create placements.

Your desk, your fees, your highest-value briefs.

Zone 1: Immersion
your desk, your fees

We learn your desk like a new consultant

Inside your agency

  • Your sectors, roles, and fee model
  • How your best clients found you
  • The placements you want more of

Inside your market

  • How hiring managers in your sector search
  • The lists that already rank for your terms
Output Your shortlist baseline: which lists name you, what AI answers say, and where competitors are named instead.
Zone 2: The map
briefs, not traffic

Map the searches that produce briefs

Pages you own

  • Sector and specialism pages
  • Contract, permanent, and executive search pages
  • Comparisons against agencies you lose to

Lists you enter

  • The best-of lists that decide your category
  • Prioritised by which ones AI quotes
Output Every target tied to a brief-producing moment, never to raw traffic.
Zone 3: Build
earn shortlist proof

Strengthen what you own and where others name you

Commercial pages

  • Sharper sector and service positioning
  • Case studies and proof for real hiring problems

Third-party authority

  • List inclusion and editorial links
  • Brand mentions, reviews, and expert commentary
Output A stronger evidence trail from search result to shortlist to sales conversation.
Zone 4: Scoreboard
show the movement

Measure whether your shortlist position is changing

Visibility

  • Ranking-list inclusion
  • Commercial page rankings and mentions

Shortlist signals

  • AI answers that name your agency
  • Inbound briefs and sales conversations
Output A monthly visibility ledger that shows what moved and where to invest next.

Zone 4 feeds Zone 2 every month. That feedback loop is why engagements run for six or twelve months.

The placement economics

This only works commercially if the briefs are valuable.

For specialist recruiters, one new retained client can create several placements. That is why we start with your real fee model, not traffic projections.

Example first-year salary$90,000
Fee at the 20% benchmark$18,000

At that fee, two incremental placements can cover several months of a typical programme. Most programmes sit between $5,000 and $10,000 per month, with $4,000 as the minimum for a tightly defined scope. We run the calculation with your actual fees and close rates on the call.

  • Growth achieved in eight months.
  • On pace for 300 inbound calls this year.
  • One internal marketer supported by nine targeted links a month.
  • A business where one placement can pay five figures.

Straight answers

Is this a good use of money?

The right answer depends on your fees, your sector, and whether one more client is commercially meaningful. Here is how we think about the common objections.

Is the investment genuinely worth it?

Most programmes are scoped between $5,000 and $10,000 per month, with $4,000 as the minimum. Run that against your own average fee, then compare it with a mid-level internal hire or paid channels that stop producing the day you stop paying. This programme builds sector pages, list positions, mentions, and AI visibility that can continue working after the initial campaign.

We get our business from referrals and repeat clients.

That usually means the proof is already there. The visibility is not. You are winning the briefs where you are already in the room. This work is about the briefs where a buyer made a shortlist without knowing you existed.

We tried SEO and it did not work.

Many agencies were sold generic blog posts and rankings for their own brand name. Neither creates a new shortlist position. We focus on commercial sector pages, the lists other people own, and the answers buyers receive before they contact an agency.

Can we do this in-house?

You can improve your own pages. The harder part is earning inclusion in third-party lists and mentions on trusted sites at enough quality and volume to shift your category position. That requires relationships, research, outreach, and continual quality control.

Is AI search a fad?

Ranking lists have shaped recruitment search results for years. AI systems now read many of the same sources and turn them into one answer. If AI answers disappeared tomorrow, the Google visibility and third-party authority would still remain.

When should we see the money back?

The first list placements can land within weeks. Rankings and AI citations usually move on a 90 to 120 day lag as authority accumulates and search systems learn the new positioning. Clients typically see positive indicators in the first few months. The six-month minimum gives those signals time to become commercially useful.

How much of our time does this take?

You help us validate the target sectors, commercial priorities, and positioning at the start. After that, you approve major decisions and read a short monthly report. Most customers spend less than an hour a month on ongoing management.

What if the programme is not working?

We capture the baseline in the opening weeks and report against it every month. By month three, you should be able to see whether the leading indicators are moving: list inclusion, target-page visibility, mentions, rankings, and AI shortlist presence.

Strong fit

Built for specialist agencies with proof and room to grow.

  • 5 to 150 consultants and $1M+ annual billings
  • A defined sector, role family, or geographic market
  • UK or US agencies in sectors with durable hiring demand
  • Healthcare, defence, energy, skilled trades, AI and ML, or regulated finance
Probably not yet

The timing matters as much as the strategy.

  • Solo desks that need immediate cash flow
  • Agencies that need leads this week
  • Generalists without a category they want to own
  • Teams measuring success in traffic rather than placements and briefs
